Neurodivergence & autism · SafeCard Alert

Your profile speaks for you — in your own words, not a clinician's label.

SafeCard Alert is the only medical alert designed from the ground up for autistic and neurodivergent people. Built in consultation with the National Autistic Society. Identity-first throughout.

SafeCard Alert uses identity-first language throughout — autistic person, not "person with autism."

Built differently

The first medical alert designed for autistic and neurodivergent people.

Every other alert was designed for someone with a single visible condition who can communicate their own needs. SafeCard Alert was built for the people those systems forgot.

AAC communication board World first

  • 94 pictogram tiles across six categories — needs, pain, body, symptoms, facilities and admin
  • Build a sentence, tap to speak — with captions for Deaf visitors and sound-off use
  • BSL symbols included. Available in 40+ languages.

Voice profile builder

  • Speak naturally and SafeCard structures your profile — no typing, no forms
  • Removes the form-filling barrier for autistic people, those with dyslexia or cognitive fatigue
  • Not dictation — a conversation. You talk, it fills in, you review and confirm.

Your words, not a label

  • Tell responders exactly how to approach you, what calms you, and what makes things worse
  • Sensory triggers, communication preferences, behavioural cues — in your own language
  • Separate sections for each context: school, hospital, police, sports

Linked carer profile World first

  • You and your carer both carry linked profiles — if something happens to either of you, the other's profile activates
  • One-tap private call to your carer — their number and address are never shown to the caller
  • Gillick-competency aligned — under 16 carer-held, 16–18 assessed, at 18 self-edit transfers to the young person unless they lack capacity
Why it was built

Oliver McGowan was 18. He was autistic and had a learning disability. He died because the information that would have saved him was not available to the clinicians treating him.

His death led directly to the Health and Care Act 2022 and the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training now required across the NHS and social care. The training creates awareness. SafeCard Alert provides the individual information that turns awareness into the right action — in the moment, for this person.

700,000+
Autistic people diagnosed in the UK — with an estimated 1.1 million undiagnosed.
1.7M
Pupils in England with SEND — rising every year. Every one of them needs a SafeCard profile.
13 acts
SafeCard Alert is aligned with 13 UK legislative frameworks. No competitor aligns with more than 2–3.

40+ language translation

Your profile translates for whoever scans it. A Polish family sets up a card for a grandparent with little English — the paramedic sees the profile in English. A British traveller abroad — the local responder sees it in their language.

This is different from AAC

Translation = the profile appears in the responder's language.
AAC = for people who can't speak — the board speaks for them.

Privacy by design

You control your profile. Responders can read it. Nobody can copy it, save it, or keep it. And you can see exactly who has seen it.

View only — profiles cannot be saved, copied, screenshotted or shared
Full audit log — you see every scan, every access, every tier, with timestamp
Automatic timeout — profiles close after a set period, every time
Remote card disable — lost or stolen card stopped instantly from your account
Carer privacy — their phone number and home address are never shown to callers
World first

Talk to SafeCard. It writes your profile for you.

The AI voice profile builder removes the form-filling barrier entirely. You speak naturally — SafeCard structures your answers into a profile, then reads it back for you to confirm.

Not dictation. A conversation. Built specifically for autistic people, those with dyslexia, cognitive fatigue, learning disabilities, or motor difficulties.

🎙️

"Tell me how you like people to approach you."

You talk. SafeCard listens and asks follow-up questions.

✍️

Your words, structured automatically

SafeCard fills in your profile — you review and confirm every field before it saves.

🔊

Read aloud to confirm

The finished profile reads itself back to you in a natural voice — so you hear exactly what a responder will hear.

Voice profile builder — preview

SafeCard: "How would you like a paramedic to approach you if you've gone non-verbal?"

You: "Don't touch me without asking first. Give me space. Speak quietly."

SafeCard: "Got it. Is there anything that makes things worse — lights, noise, touch?"

You: "Bright lights and people crowding me."
